PMV (Participatiemaatschappij Vlaanderen) is the investment company of the Flemish government. They help companies grow by providing financing and support in the form of subordinated loans, capital participation, guarantees, and public-private partnership initiatives. Their mission? Stimulating sustainable economic growth, fostering innovation and creating jobs in Flanders.
Since 2023, PMV has partnered with KeepMoving to offer its employees a range of engaging health and wellbeing activities bundled under the name Activ8, the welfare programme in which PMV bundles all sporting and connecting activities.

🎯 The challenges
Over the past years, PMV has taken part in a variety of KeepMoving challenges:
2023 – Millionaire Step Challenge
In October 2023, PMV launched their Millionaire Step Challenge, encouraging teams of up to six colleagues to reach a collective goal of 1,000,000 steps over the course of a month. That meant about 5,750 steps per person, per day; a fun, achievable target that got teams walking together and building healthier habits.
2024 – PMV Step Challenge for Charity
The 2024 edition took things a step further, quite literally, by linking movement to meaningful causes. Employees walked not just for their health, but to support two charities: Villa Rozerood and Brooddoosnodig. Every step counted towards a larger contribution, based on the total average steps per day across all employees.
2025 – PMV DuoFit Challenge
The 2025 edition added an original touch to previous editions by focusing on all forms of exercise: the DuoFit Challenge. Employees teamed up in pairs and moved together for a shared goal: 2,025 minutes of activity in 2025. While having fun and getting to know each other better, they also supported two good causes: Eleonoor and Beire Cool. For every minute of movement, PMV donated 5 cents to charity.

🔎 Outcome and benefits
The three challenges were marked by impressive engagement and standout performances.
During the Millionaire Step Challenge, 24 teams took part, with an exceptional 98% participation rate among employees. The dedication paid off: together, participants clocked in more than 33.5 million steps, equivalent to over 25,000 kilometres. The average participant accumulated over 275,000 steps across the challenge, translating to more than 9,000 steps per day, a clear testament to the team’s commitment.
The Step Challenge for Charity, which engaged 31 teams and 135 participants, was no less impressive. With 96% active participants, the energy was clearly high. Over 37 million steps were collected in total, supported not only by walking but also by a significant contribution of 3.6 million steps from running and over a million steps from other sports. On average, participants added more than 1.2 million steps per day to the collective total, a figure that speaks volumes about the consistent effort across the board.
The DuoFit Challenge saw 57 teams and 114 participants step up to the plate, clocking an impressive total of 212,450 active minutes. With a remarkable 99% of participants actively contributing, the enthusiasm was undeniable. Walking proved especially popular, with no less than 95,451 minutes logged on foot.
These figures reflect not only the high engagement levels of the employees, but also the strong team spirit and shared motivation that made the challenge so impactful.
